We are very pleased to once again be able to offer a wide range of courses as part of the BA-certificate “Gender Studies” during the summer semester 2020.

Description and Structure
Since the summer semester of 2013, students at the University of Cologne have been able to acquire a Gender Studies certificate. As an additional qualification, this is a supplement to the specialist studies and certifies the acquisition of basic knowledge in the theories, concepts and methods of gender and queer studies. The certificate is anchored in the Studium Integrale (SI) as well as in the Extracurricular Programmes (EA). The courses offered include a large number of interdisciplinary seminars and lectures. The certificate can be started at any time and without separate registration.
Scope:
12 Credit Points (consisting of 4 courses, each with 3 Credit Points)
Structure:
- 2 introductory seminars or 1 introductory seminar and 1 lecture series: Introduction to formative theories, perspectives and the history of social movements
- 2 advanced seminars on practices, politics and questions of classifications, hierarchizations, differences, inequalities,...

Umfang und Aufbau
Für das Grundlagenmodul absolvieren Sie eine einführende und eine aufbauende Lehrveranstaltung von GeStiK mit jeweils 3 CP. Die LVs finden Sie im SI/EA.
Für das Vertiefungsmodul absolvieren Sie entweder:
- 2 Lehrveranstaltungen von GeStiK mit jeweils 3 CP
oder
- 3 Lehrveranstaltungen aus Regelstudiengängen mit jeweils 2 CP
Alle Prüfungsleistungen sind unbenotet.

Ausstellen des Zertifikats
Wenn Sie die 12 CPs vollständig erbracht haben und die Leistungen verbucht sind, melden Sie sich mit Ihrem Transcript of Records (ToR) per Mail beim Sekretariat von GeStiK. Das ausgestellte Zertifikat wird Ihnen dann postalisch zugestellt.
